Enjoy an Evening of Wine, Painting, and Music in Houston at the Fundraiser Event
Houston, TX, February 5 — On Saturday, February 28 at 6 p.m., The Shrine Cultural and Event Center will host a community fundraiser, produced by Jackie Adams of Melodrama Boutique. “Corks. Canvas. Culture” offers an enjoyable evening of painting, listening to live jazz, and South African wine tasting in honor of Black History Month. Proceeds of the event will benefit the restoration and revitalization of the Historical Shrine Cultural Center and Bookstore, a place where the community can celebrate special events such as weddings, private dinners, conferences, workshops, and much more while surrounded by culture.
The talented Theresa Grayson, who released her latest CD Live2Love last year, sets the ambiance with her saxophone.
“My music is a reflection of my heart. The melodies I play are the steps of my own experiences. My desire is to touch a special place in the listener’s heart and create a warm feeling of peace and happiness,” said Grayson.
Orissa Bey of 3 Hues will help coordinate the art projects and Branwar Wines will provide the professional wine-tasting experience. Guests can also enjoy a great candy and dessert bar thanks to Sugar Bunch and Caribbean Bites from Island Sizzler. In addition, spring aromas will be in the air, courtesy of Simply Scents.
This delightful evening takes place on Feb. 28, from 6-9 p.m., and is at the Shrine Cultural and Event Center located at 5309 Martin Luther King Boulevard, Houston, TX 77021. Admission is $40 per person and $60 for two (includes food, wine, dessert, and live music). Guests are invited to bring along their favorite valentine, best friend, or family member.
